The Lincolnshire Show presents all that is great about Lincolnshire, the warm welcome, its skills and quality products.
At this year’s Show we will again be celebrating the inventiveness, initiative and hard work of Lincolnshire’s trading businesses – companies based in the region that already trade successfully outside of the region, perhaps processing international raw materials locally, or selling products in overseas markets.
With the support of Lincolnshire Life, the County Council and Clydesdale Bank, we will be showcasing Lincolnshire based companies that are leading the field in quality and leading the charge into new business, by hosting an area “Select Lincolnshire for Business”. On the first day of the Show, 19th June Clydesdale will be inviting the public to the stand, to meet Rugby World Cup star Mike Catt at various times during the day.
This will highlight the skills and resources available in Lincolnshire, including its world class work force and training facilities, efficient logistics networks with access to major UK ports and export routes.
Through our collective networks, we are welcoming international business groups to attend the Show, supporting this with experienced interpretation skills and value adding events, to ensure guests take home the best impression of Lincolnshire, our people and our products.
“Select Lincolnshire for Business” will be hosting business meetings, demonstrating some of the diversity of Lincolnshire businesses operating overseas and providing introductions to potential business partners to explore new markets.
Lincolnshire Agricultural Society Trustee Chris Rothery, a former agricultural machinery dealer, has been helping to promote the new initiative alongside fellow Life Member Matthew Fletcher.
“We have had a very positive response from county businesses when we approached them about this new area of the Show,” says Chris.
“For 2013 so we are confident this will be a continuing addition to the Show’s offering with new companies involved in this useful shop window for Lincolnshire based producers”.
“Firms who’ve signed up to it this year will gain from the exposure to anyone attending the Show who is interested in doing business with them in both neighbouring counties and abroad – I think people would be surprised by how many overseas attendees already visit the Show and we would like to highlight and encourage this”.
“They will have a lot to learn about the variety of Lincolnshire businesses as companies in the agricultural, engineering, accountancy, property agency and banking are just some of the ones being showcased in 2013.”
